Playing safety is a challenge and is one position where you need to understand the pass coverage and run responsibilities of all the defensive players, plus have a good knowledge of the offenses' plays, certain alignments, and each players' tendencies that you must immediately react too. Once you know what your opponent is doing and where the ball is going, you can put yourself in the best position to make the play or at least be around the ball.
